Goodbyes
I was talking to my best friend today, and he told me, " I have never heard a "good" in a goodbye." I never thought of goodbyes before, but they are always sad for me. A goodbye to a relative that you won't see for awhile, a goodbye to a relationship, or your goodbye to a family member before they close the coffin. Good is usually a word that is used describing something pleasant or pleasing to you. Why is there the word "good" in front of "bye"? There never truly is any kind of good in an outcome when using that word. In less, I just haven't experienced it yet....

Oh, wow, I had never thought of that way. I mean every time I have to say the word "bye" to any family member, a lump is developed in my throat. However, why should we use the word good in front of such a lowly word? Danielle, you always bring up an interesting point in your blogs. I discuss these issues with my mother and it turns into an hour long discussion. It's quite enjoyable.
Awwh. You're totally right! Like why would it be "good" to bid farewell to someone? Especially when it's not like elementary school, "when goodbye's only meant until tomorrow". It makes me sad to think about. :/
